Speed World Cup season begins in Chongqing

Speed climbing world cups season is just about to begin. First competition will be held in Chongqing, China this coming Friday and Saturday. For Edyta Ropek, athlete sponsored by TOP30, Entre-Prises and Five Ten it’s fourteenth season of her career competing in international events. After long and tiring journey Edyta Ropek is now in China. Shortly after checking in at the hotel, has completed one workout. In the plan before competition she has one more training. There will be also practice on the routes. Speed climbing will be held on Saturday.

Competition in Chongqing will be the first in which the new speed climbing rules will be implemented: for the start procedure and the number of allowable false starts. This was reduced to one during the whole event! It will be also first competition with New Official Speed Record holds, made by Entre-Prises.

Friday, 22 march, bouldering:

  • 03:30 – 6:30 – qualifications for men
  • 08:00 – 10:40 – qualifications for women

 

Saturday, 23 march, speed & bouldering

  • 06:00 – 07:00 – qualifications men & women in speed
  • 7:30 – 08:30 – finals for men & women in speed
  • 10:10 – 11:30 – finals man & woman in bouldering
