President of The Republic of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski held a meeting with Polish representatives for the World Games 2013. Whishing a great success in Cali, the President handed a white and red flag of Polish representation to Edyta Ropek.

On Wednesday in Presidential Palace Bronislaw Komorowski met with sportspeople who are going to participate in The World Games which will take place from 27 July to 4 August in Cali in Colombia. At the meeting Polish Mountaineering Association was represented by president Janusz Onyszkiewicz, the secretary-general Marek Wierzbowski, climber Edyta Ropek and coach Arkadiusz Kamiński.

At the meeting the President wished everyone a remarkable success that will make Poland, and especially certain disciplines and each sportsperson more famous and recognized. 

 

I wish a great success to all of you, a success that would make Poland well-known worldwide, a success that would make each discipline and each individual more recognized. I wish you the success as such a success is always a success of the whole Polish nation, the whole Poland and bears another meaningful aspect and that is popularizing active lifestyle’ -said the President.

A three-time World Cup winner, World and European Championships medalist in Sport Climbing, Edyta Ropek, after receiving the national flag, on behalf of all the sportspeople to attend The World Games 2013, thanked the President for the meeting and deep interest in people training those sports which are not contested in the Olympic Games.

We would like to express our gratitude for your invitation and will to meet us all. We are delighted that our commitment and effort put into preparing for such a prestigious sport event has been appreciated by the authorities of our country. Participation in the upcoming World Games is a great distinction for each sportsperson who trains a non-Olympic sport. At the same time it is a great opportunity to promote Polish sport around the world.’ – the contestant for MKS Tarnovia Azoty’s Group Elzat (Five Ten, Entre-Prises, TOP30) Edyta Ropek thanked, adding- ‘We can assure you that we are going to Colombia with positive attitude, high motivation and filled with strong will to fight and win. We will properly represent Poland and our disciplines in Cali. We would also like to express our pride in the fact that the next World Games 2017 will be held in Poland and the host will be Wrocław’. 


In The World Games 2013 in Cali sport climbing will be represented by Polish athletes Klaudia Buczek, Edyta Ropek and Aleksandra Rudzińska. The next World Games will be held in 2017 in Wrocław, Poland.
